ConcentR8 Review

“I started to wonder if boys were being medicated for simply being boys, not if their ‘disorder’ was really just a very normal phase of development.”

Concentr8 by William Sutcliffe – 3/5 stars

Thank  you to Bloomsbury Australia for sending me a copy of this book to review.

A very thought provoking read. I wouldn’t say it’s an edge of your seat novel, however it definitely kept me interested to see what happened next.

Concentr8 brings to light how the choices we make can have a major impact on our lives. One wrong choice can spiral out of control.

The novel touches on peer pressure, social inequalities, mob mentality and how society deals with the youth of lower ecnomic social classes.

Concentr8 has opened my eyes to the fact that society’s method of dealing with these troubled youths may not be the right approach to the problem. This could also reflect any real life scenario.

Each chapter is written by a different characters perspective. Either Troy, Femi, Karen, Lee or Blaze. At the beginning of each chapter is a fact regarding the main angle of the book. I would go into detail but I can’t in this review as it is a spoiler free review. The facts where statistics that totally shocked me.

Overall, I choose to rate this book 3/5 stars. I recomend this book if you would like something different to read. Just keep in mind it is totally different than any other book so it might take a while to get into it.

You can order this book from Amazon, Book Depository or Bloomsbury.
